.... Canada Blooms, 2013...
Warning - artsy fartsy flower shots follow!

.... and what every environmentally concerned homeowner should aspire to ....

A green-roof dog house!

... in the spirit of "where's Waldo" .... can you find the white tail deer in the forest?  I was there, I took the photos - but when I got 'em up on the screen, I had to stare a long while at some of the shots.  I am always astonished that an animal so large can hide so brilliantly and completely in a barren, winter forest ...... not just one deer, but three!!!

.... look right below the "v" of the branch - top, left ...

.... see the dark tree on the left side of the photo ... move slightly to the right
to the lighter shade tree trunk - her nose looks like it's touching
the light coloured tree trunk ....

.. almost dead centre ...

.... then again, the chick-a-dees will pose for anyone with a sunflower seed!!!

.... seemed a shame to waste a rare, sunny afternoon - so headed back down to the lake front - J.C. Saddington Park (Lake Street and Lakeshore Road East - downtown Port Credit!)

... these guys are Buffleheads.  According to my National Geographic Field Guide to Birds - they fly south to the sunny climes around Lake Ontario to spend the winter ... one of us seems to have not grasped the concept of "flying south"!!

(.... the swallows may fly back to Capistrano .... but it appears the
sea gulls fly back to the marina in Port Credit ...)
