"House Hunting" with the Mad Retiree ....

Parkwood Estate

... the home of Samuel McLaughlin, founder of General Motors of Canada, from 1917 until 1972.  Most of the original architecture inside the home is still intact (the yellow, art deco bathroom on the second floor is to die for!)  Not permitted to take photos inside the house, but check out the formal gardens!!!!











 
... behind this first floor collonade is an indoor bowling alley, complete
with a Brunswick semi-automatic pin setter!!!

South Simcoe Heritage Steam Train!!!

.. the oldest operating steam heritage railway in Ontario also features the oldest operating steam locomotive in Canada.  The fully narrated trip runs from Tottenham through the scenic Beeton Creek valley to Beeton and back.
