.... so, it's that time of year - between seasons - when the fire department,

police, and the conservation authority warn everyone to stay away

from rivers, ponds and lakes because the surface ice is "unstable". 

 

Well, on my little portion of the Credit River, the ice

wasn't so much unstable, as on the move! Up and over

the foot path and into the ravine and mowing down

everything in it's path!  There were blocks of ice wedged in

tree branches and a length of culvert is now laying,

abandoned in the middle of the field!
