I'm not sure if it was coincidence or karma, but about the same time Comicon was rolling through town, "Comics: The Road to Independence" was happening at the gallery in the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. The exhibit was showcasing the alternative and independent comic book market. Basically local artists who use the comic format to express their own ideas and points-of-view and who publish their work independently. All of the artists in the show live in Mississauga and Toronto.

hand at a little sketching/cartooning ......
