… spotted a Junco on last week’s birding walk.  Apparently the Junco is a "harbinger" of colder weather - it’s another one of those bird species that flies south for the winter, to the more temperate weather of southern Ontario!
So with the season and time charge - for all of you keeping score (including me!) – here’s my summer bird count!  Something to look at and sigh deeply over when the winter winds blow!

Cedar Wax Wing

Gold Finch

Robin

Cooper's Hawk

Rose Breasted Grosbeak

 Red-Winged Blackbird

some blue bird ...

(According to Wikipedia, there are 478 different bird species in Ontario.  I’ve photographed maybe 50 ….  I can actually identify maybe 15 - 20 on sight …….
Oh my, it’s going to be a long retirement!)
